Welcome to June...the start of summer here in the Middle East with temperatures reaching as high as 45 degrees! As we are looking forward to go on our summer holidays and escape the heat, Moda Africa is preparing to attend Mercedes Benz Cape Town Fashion Week (MBFWCT) in South Africa in July. We will be attending all the shows and will be on the lookout for new African designers to add to our already amazing portfolio...
MBFWCT 2015 will see the fashion industry gather to see the best of African fashion in the heart of the Mother City and the latest Spring/Summer 2016 collections. Designers will take to the ramp to showcase their design excellence plus gain global exposure and Moda Africa will be right there to capture it all!
This month we would like to introduce you to Eliana Murargy - Owner of Luxury clothing line Murade, launched in 2011. Born in Belgium and raised in Mozambique. A dreamer of everything fabulous and a believer of hard work in achieving your dreams…She is passionate about the expressive and abstract art within the fashion and design realm.
"At an early age I started painting on canvas and as I started getting older my interest with fashion grew bigger."
In 2008 Murargy started her studies at the reputable fashion design institute IESB (Instituto Europeo di Design) based in Brazil and Milan. As a student (young designer), she participated in various fashion contests, such as "Fashion Week" in Brasilia and won every single one since 2009. With this immense experience gained in the Brazilian market, Murargy was able to establish herself within that market. She completed her studies at IESB in 2010 and has since shown at numerous Fashion Weeks across the world and won a few awards.
Moda Africa is excited to be representing Murade and will be presenting her S/S 2016 collection in the Middle East in October. She will also be participating in Runway Dubai 2015 in November. Make sure you do not miss this amazing designer!
